Connecting an assistant
What the connector does
An assistant connects to a member's Welling account at one address. The tools below are the whole list the connector serves. Each title and description is that tool's own text. Sign in, when a tool needs it, happens on Welling's site. The connector does not take payment.
Availability
The connector is turned on. It accepts connections at https://www.wellinghealth.com/api/mcp.
Tools
Today in Welling
welling_get_today
Use this when the member asks about their Welling plan for today: their daily targets, today's calorie number, their latest weight, what they have logged to eat today, and this week's meals with tonight's pick. Every item says who set it and as of when. Do not use for symptoms, medications, prescriptions, lab results or questions for a Clinician; for a symptom use welling_report_symptom.
Sign in with welling.know (read). Marked read only. Not marked destructive.
Progress over time
welling_get_progress
Use this when the member asks how they are trending over the last 7, 30 or 90 days: their weight, how many days they logged food, and, where their devices share them, steps, sleep, resting heart rate and heart rate variability. Points that came from a device (Apple Health, Health Connect or a wearable) are included only where Welling sends device data to this assistant; otherwise a note says they were held back, which does not mean the member has none. Each point says where it came from. Do not use for today's plan (use welling_get_today), or to judge whether a change matters medically.
Sign in with welling.know (read). Marked read only. Not marked destructive.
Log a weight
welling_log_weight
Use this when the member tells you their weight and asks you to record it in Welling, for today or one of the 7 days before. It saves only when that day has no weight yet; when the day already has one, it saves nothing and returns a link to change it in the app, with that weight where Welling shares it with this assistant. The entry is marked as coming from an assistant. Do not use for a weight the member did not give you, for someone else's weight, or to change a weight already logged.
Sign in with welling.tell (save). Not marked read only. Not marked destructive.
Log food
welling_log_food
Use this when the member tells you what they ate and asks you to log it in Welling, for today or one of the 7 days before. Send a client_key you make for this one entry and reuse it on any retry, so the entry is never saved twice; a new entry needs a new key. Send calories (the member's number, or your estimate) and the protein, carbohydrate, fat and fiber you know; Welling saves every number you send as an estimate. When the member asks you to log it in Welling, call this tool even if they also named another app or device (Function, Apple Health, or similar). The entry is marked as coming from an assistant, and the member can edit it in the app. Do not use for food the member only plans to eat, for meal planning, or for someone else's meals.
Sign in with welling.tell (save). Not marked read only. Not marked destructive.
Symptom or feeling unwell
welling_report_symptom
Use this when the member mentions a symptom, feeling unwell, or anything that could be urgent. It returns fixed safety guidance: emergency and crisis numbers, where to get same-day care, and how patients of the practice can message the practice. It needs no sign in and takes no details. Do not use for logging food or weight.
No sign in. Marked read only. Not marked destructive.
Open the Welling app
welling_open_in_app
Use this when the member wants something only the Welling app does, or asks where to find it: Board, FUEL, MOVE, Record, Settings, Labs, Bring your labs, Care, Manage membership or Support. It returns labeled links to pages on Welling's site that say where each one is in the Welling app on the member's phone, the same for every member. Do not use for reading or changing the member's data, or for care messages or prescriptions; it only points the way.
Sign in with welling.know (read). Marked read only. Not marked destructive.
Join Welling
welling_join
Use this when the member asks how to join a Welling membership track, or whether a track is open. It returns each track as open or not open yet, with the link to join on Welling's own page where one is open, and the membership page. Do not use for offering a membership, or care through the practice, unless the member asks to join, and never for prescriptions.
No sign in. Marked read only. Not marked destructive.
Sign in and what is shared
An assistant that needs a member's account sends the member to sign in at https://www.wellinghealth.com/oauth/authorize. The member chooses read access (welling.know), save access (welling.tell), or both. Welling admits only the assistants named here. Any other assistant is refused before sign in.

For a signed in tool, Welling stores the tool name, the outcome, which assistant called, and a keyed hash (HMAC) of the arguments. It does not store the arguments or the answer. A tool that needs no sign in does not write that record.
A signed in read is limited to 60 a minute for one account. A save is limited to 30 in 24 hours for one account. These tools are not under those limits: welling_report_symptom, welling_join. These tools keep a daily count per assistant and nothing about the member: welling_report_symptom.
